I live in the Metro Detroit area with my husband, daughters, cats, bees, tortoise, vegetable garden, books, and (depending on the season) some monarch butterflies in various stages of development and/or some neonatal kitten fosters. I have a B.S. in applied ecology and environmental science from Michigan Technological University. Before I was a writer and stay-at-home mom, I battled invasive species and researched turtles. My novel, Grimbargo, is published with Spaceboy Books, and my novella, Come Back to the Swamp, is published with Black Spot Books. Let's pretend this stock photo is a picture of me at my absolute favorite, most darling little coffee shop ever, which is probably called Bertrand's or something. It's totally local and independently run and dripping with fair trade everything. That barista with the hat is Bertrand. He's from Iceland and he makes the most scrumptious hjonabandsaela you could possibly imagine! Bertrand's is where I do all my writing because OMG how could I not? The atmosphere! The hjonabandsaela!
